Genesee, PA man charged with attempted murder after elderly man was shot- UPDATED

A Potter County man has been jailed without bail after he allegedly shot a 91-year-old man on Friday at 1:14 p.m. The incident occurred at 221 Corcoran Road in Genesee Township. Pennsylvania State police arrested John Thomas Polen IV, 21, of Genesee and charged him with attempted criminal homicide, two counts of felony aggravated assault and reckless endangering another person. At 12:53 a.m. Saturday, He appeared before Magisterial District Judge Annette L. Easton who remanded him to jail and denied bail. The judge said she rejected bail for public safety and for Polen's personal safety.
The shooting victim, identified as Turner N. Polen was flown to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. A preliminary hearing has been set for June 25th.
