Free Community Meal at Scio church

A free monthly community dinner will be held this Sunday at Scio. Knights Creek Evangelical Methodist Church at 4987 Knights Creek Road (County Road 9) will host the meal following its 11 a.m. service which features the music ministry team of The Escribans, a Venezuelan family now residing in Allegany County, along with David Peralta, a music professor and viola player for the Venezuelan National Symphony Orchestra.  A dish-to-pass or dessert are welcome but not necessary.
Free music lessons also are provided weekly for children, youth and adults after the morning services at the church, with seven weekly choir and orchestra camps being scheduled for different parts of Allegany County during July and August for eight to 13-year-olds.
Described as "The Country Church with the Heart of Christ," Knights Creek also holds a 6 p.m. service on Sundays, a Bible study at 6 p.m. Wednesdays, community prayer from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. weekdays, and Celebrate Recovery/Celebrate Victory from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays for adults of all ages who are struggling with any type of hurts, hangups, habits or struggles, including common addictions.
