Children's Focus and Free Community Meal at Scio church

The director of a Wellsville children and youth facility that provides free evening activities and a summer camp will relate at a Scio church Sunday how God has been working for many years through the ministry.
Ken Jordan of Gil's Hills Ministries, "Home of the King's Kids," will provide the 11 a.m. morning message at Knights Creek Evangelical Methodist Church,
2987 Knights Creek Road (County Road 9), with the church's free monthly community dinner to follow.  A dish-to-pass or dessert is welcome.
Gil's Hills was founded over 40 years ago by Gilbert Parker, organist and leader of the music program at the First United Methodist Church of Wellsville.  Over 130 youth, ages seven through 17, are transported annually from various parts of Allegany County to the camp's facilities to take part in activities.  It is supported annually by individuals and more than 20 area churches.
Sunday's service at Knight's Creek Church also features the music ministry team of The Escribans, a Venezuelan family now residing in Allegany County, along with David Peralta, a music professor and viola player for the Venezuelan National Symphony Orchestra.
Free music lessons also are provided for children and youth after morning services at the church.
Self-described as "The Country Church with the Heart of Christ," Knights Creek also holds a 6 p.m. service on Sundays, a Bible study at 6 p.m. Wednesdays, community prayer from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. weekdays, and Celebrate Recovery/Celebrate Victory from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays for adults of all ages who are struggling with any type of hurts, hangups, habits or struggles, including common addictions.
