Florence Zapalowski, 93, of Ulysses, PA, formerly of
Cheektowaga, NY, died Wednesday, March 14, 2018 in her home. Born November 8, 1924, at home in Cooper
Township, Montour County, PA, she was the daughter of Joseph and Katherine Oshetski
Scisly. Her mother and father died when
Florence was very young and she was raised in an orphanage in Harrisburg. She was married to Casmir “Casey” Zapalowski,
who predeceased her. Florence was
employed by Trico Windshield Wipers in Buffalo from 1949 until her retirement
in 1989. She was a member of Queen of
Martyrs Church in Cheektowaga, NY and St. Bibiana Catholic Church in
Galeton. Surviving are: a sister, Anna M. Lewis of Ulysses; a brother, Joseph Scisly of North Hollywood,
CA; nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was
predeceased by a brother, Stanley Scisly;
and a sister, Mary Scisly.
Friends may call at St. Bibiana Catholic Church, Galeton, PA on Monday,
March 19, 2018 from 9:30 – 10:00 a.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial
celebrated at 10:00 AM. The Rev. Joseph
V. Dougherty will be the Celebrant.
Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg, PA. Memorials may be made to Ulysses Library,
