Allegany County needs foster parents...now

The Allegany County Department of Social Services Foster Care Team is seeking people interested in becoming foster parents to care for children in need across Allegany County.
The Department will be holding two information sessions on becoming a foster parent.  They will be held on Saturday, April 28th at 10 a.m. and on Wednesday, May 2nd at 6 p.m. The Department is looking for people to fill a wide variety of roles, including potential foster or adoptive parents, as well as those willing to provide short-term Respite care to foster children.
Foster parents and Respite care providers play an essential role in providing temporary, safe, and nurturing homes to children when their parents are unable to care for them.  In situations where children cannot return to their birth families, foster parents could become adoptive parents providing forever homes or be a life-long connection.
For further information, please contact either Brigette Thompson at (585) 268-9736 or Jennifer Bigelow at (585) 268-9425 between 8:30 a.m.– 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
