Allegany County Legislature: Some agenda items for March 26th meeting

These are some of the issues the Allegany County Legislature will vote on during its meeting March 26th:

•That the Allegany County Legislature is opposed to Governor Cuomo’s proposal contained in the 2018 Budget Review Bill to amend laws regarding the current 480 and 480-a Forest Exemptions and to add a new 480-b Taxation under a Forest Practice Program or Forest Certification Program known as The Empire Forests for the Future Initiative.
•That one part-time position of Nurse Practitioner (NYSNA) is created in the county Health Dept.
•That Dean Giopulos shall be appointed to the Allegany County Traffic Safety Board for a three-year term, commencing immediately and expiring December 31, 2020.
•WHEREAS, a check in the amount of $55,082.98, representing the cost less a $500 deductible, to replace equipment that was damaged as a result of a power surge at the Jail and Public Safety Facility on January 14, 2018, has been offered by NYMIR (New York Municipal Insurance Reciprocal) in settlement for such damage, now, therefore, be it 
RESOLVED:
          1.         That the sum of $55,082.98 representing the settlement to replace equipment that was damaged as a result of a power surge at the Jail and Public Safety Facility on January 14, 2018, is accepted.
            2.         That the sum of $55,082.98 is placed in Account No. CS1931.429 (Risk Retention - Uninsured Property Loss) with a like sum credited to Revenue Account No. CS1930.2680.00 (Insurance Recovery).
•RESOLVED:
 1.         A Capital Project Account, designated as Account H3027, 2017-18 Statewide Interoperable Communication Grant (SICG), is hereby established.
2.         That the sum of $958,841 in 2017-2018 SICG funds is accepted.
3.         That the sum of $958,841 shall be placed in Capital Account No. H3027.200 (Capital Project - 2017-2018 SICG Grant) with a like sum credited to Revenue Account No. H3027.3097.00 (State Aid – Capital).
•RESOLVED:
            1.         That the Agreement for respite services between the County of Allegany and Absolut Care of Houghton, LLC, for the period of January 1, 2018, to December 31, 2018, is approved.
            2.         The provider agrees to accept, and the County agrees to pay for such care as follows:
            DAILY RATE: The daily rate (24 hour stay) for such services will be $270 for a private room and $265 for a semi-private room.
•RESOLVED:
            1.         That the Agreement in the amount of $8,000 between the County of Allegany and Allegany County Association for the Blind and Visually Handicapped, Inc., in relation to the rendering of service, training or aid to indigent blind in Allegany County during 2018, is approved.
