NYSDOT SNOWPLOW DRIVERS DONATE FOOD IN ALLEGANY COUNTY

The New York State Department of Transportation’s (NYSDOT) snowplow drivers in Allegany County are finding ways to give back to their communities.
The hard-working men and women at the NYSDOT barns in Friendship, Caneadea, Wellsville and West Almond have again demonstrated their generosity and compassion by donating canned goods and non-perishable food items to the Cuba Cultural Center’s food pantry in Cuba, NY.  This year over 300 pounds of food was donated on Valentine’s Day.
The local NYSDOT crews strive to do good work on and off the highway and set out to make a difference every day.  Support from these caring snow plow drivers will help children and their families gain access to the food they need to be strong and healthy.
This winter a team of 51 snowplow operators, supervisors and mechanics are responsible for maintaining over 550 lane miles of State highway in Allegany County.
