A Gaines Township Police Sergeant has been sentenced in
Potter County Court of Common Pleas. He was accused by Pennsylvania State
Police of raping a woman in Galeton 2 years ago.
Kane Jordan Shope, 31, of Galeton, PA, was charged with
raping a known female, 32 years old, also of Galeton between January 7 at 9:30
PM and January 8 at 5:00 AM according to a news release by Trooper Michael Delp
of the Coudersport barracks.
Over the course of two years of court action, the district
attorney dropped all charges except a Misdemeanor 2 Simple Assault for which
Shope pleaded no contest.
Potter County Judge Stephen Minor sentenced Shope on January
3rd to 3 months to 23 1/2 months in Potter County Jail according to court
