Another day, another school threat - this time in Steuben County


A report from the Hammondsport Central School involving a threat that was left on the voicemail of a faculty staff member, has resulted in charges against Steven R. Watters, age 17, of #106 Gibson Street, Bath, NY.  On Wednesday, the New York State Police at Bath and the Hammondsport School District School Resource Officer were notified of the threat and commenced an investigation.  Upon the completion of the investigation, which consisted of interviews as well as a building search by the New York State Police K-9 Unit, it was determined that Watters allegedly left a message advising of a potential threat at the school, and provided a specific time the threat would happen.Watters was charged with Making a Terroristic Threat, a class “D” Felony. Upon arraignment in the Town of Avoca Court, Watters was remanded to the Steuben County Jail on $500.00 cash bail/$1000.00 property bond.  He is scheduled to reappear in Town of Avoca Court on February 14th.
