Steuben DSS celebrates National Adoption Day; judicial accomplishments

BATH --Steuben County celebrated the adoption of six children --and the accomplishments of two retiring county judges --during its 2017 National Adoption Day reception Tuesday. Steuben Department of Social Services Commissioner Kathryn Muller presented the Hon. Marianne Furfure (left) and the Honorable Joseph Latham (right) with commemorative gifts in honor of their judicial work assisting adoptive families. Furfure has overseen 305 adoptions during the past 20 years and Latham has overseen 247 adoptions during 19 years on the Steuben bench. Both expect to retire at the end of the year.
Steuben DSS is actively recruiting more foster care and adoptive parents. For more information, call (607) 664-2044.
