Obituary: Raymond L. Jordan, 81, Black Creek

Raymond L. Jordan, 81, of Black Creek NY passed away Thursday September 14th, following a long battle with cancer. Born December 15,1935 he was the son of Albert and Theo (Guilford) Jordan. He was married to Sally Smith Jordan who predeceased him in 1998. Ray is survived by his son Scott Jordan (Jody Jordan), “adopted son” Michael Chin, granddaughters, Angela Miklas (Jeremy), Kristi Wenrich (Christopher) and Brooke Dzara (Michael) and great grandchildren, Kennadi, Avery, Bradley, Ivy and Colten. He was very close to his nieces, Lorali and Brenda and special friends, Nancy Alexander and Bob Metcalf. 
Ray was a graduate of Cuba Central School and Buffalo State College. He was a teacher, talented artist and chef. He owned and operated Jordan Photography and retired as a commercial photographer in 2005.  He was very active racing stock cars (#32 Olean Raceway) from a young age and continued building, selling and racing sprint cars even after retirement.
Ray always had time and special dedication to the CRCS Outdoors program and students at CRCS where he could be found doing every odd job known to man as well as building, electrical, stonework, roofing, signs and construction. Ray was integral in the creation of the Lobsterfest that he organized and ran every spring for the past 20 years at CRCS!
Ray served in the USAF from 1954-1958. He was a strong supporter and volunteer for ALS research, Donate Life and organ donation and transplant (as he donated a kidney), Make a Wish Foundation and St. Jude Hospital. In addition, Ray could be found working soup kitchens, and holiday dinners in New York and Louisiana, and he was a board member of Cuba Memorial Hospital. 
At Ray’s request there will be no visitation or memorial service.
