Connie L. Chalker, 70, of 7969 Emery Rd., passed away
unexpectedly, Saturday, September 16, 2017, at Jones Memorial Hospital,
Wellsville, NY. Born May 26, 1947 in Wellsville, she was the daughter of (unk)
and Thelma Matteson. On July 26, 1981 in Belmont, she married Ross J. Chalker,
who survives.Connie grew up in the Belmont and Belfast areas. attended
Belmont High School and later moved to the Belfast area. She cleaned several
area homes as well as being bartender at the Belfast American Legion and
Nancy's Lounge in Belfast.She enjoyed crafts, birdwatching and talking to
Grandchildren. Most of all she enjoyed her family and spending time with them.She was a member of the Belfast American Legion, post #
1504.Surviving besides her husband, Ross are a son, Daniel
(Kathy) Gowdy of Ottowa, Kansas; a daughter, Charlotte Schob of Avon, NY; seven
grandchildren; a brother, Bobby Mattison and a sister Shiela; and several
nieces and nephews.Connie was predeceased by three brothers, Jimmy, Donny and
Kalvin.
A memorial service
was held by the family at the Treusdell Funeral Home, Belfast, NY on Monday,
September 18, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Belfast Rescue
Squad.
