It's official: Dibble beat Burt for GOP ballot line in Allegany County

Former Allegany County Legislator William Dibble is the winner of the Republican primary for Allegany County Legislative District 3. By a five vote margin, Dibble won over incumbent Scott Burt. However, since both men are on alternative lines, they will both still appear on the November ballot. The other two District 3 winners were Dwight Fanton and Deb Root. That word this morning from the Board of Elections, which just made the primary results official.

In another close race, James Ames was officially declared the winner of the GOP primary for Town of Andover Justice. Again, however both Ames and challenger Steven Heckman will face each other in November. Both men also are running on Independent platforms.
