Genesee, PA man killed in tractor accident

Pennsylvania State Police say a man is dead following a tractor accident Saturday afternoon in a wooded area south of Ben Green Road in Allegany Township, Potter County. Troopers said Wallace Jerome Copley, 77, of Genesee was fatally injured in the accident. Troopers said Copley was operating a front-end loader tractor on a logging path. The man, police said, was clearing the trail and pushing brush over a bank when the tires slid off the embankment causing it to roll over, landing on the victim. Police said Copley died of severe head injuries. The man was pronounced dead at the scene of Potter County Deputy Coroner Kenneth Wingo. Genesee and Tri-Town fire and ambulance assisted at the scene.
