Belmont: You can tour Jail & Public Safety Complex without being 'bad'

Governor Cuomo has proclaimed the week of September 17-23, 2017 to be Sheriff’s Week in New York State. Sheriff’s Week celebrates the significant contributions made by the office of sheriff in county government and in the statewide criminal justice system.
In celebration of Sheriff’s Week in New York State the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office will be holding an open house on Thursday, September 21st from Noon until 7:00 p.m. at the Allegany County Jail and Public Safety Facility.
Several displays will be set up including department vehicles, specialized equipment from the CERT and ACLERT teams and Safe Child I.D. Tours will available of the jail and 911 center, and weather permitting the inmate garden and pheasant program.
Refreshments will be served throughout the day. The public is encouraged to come and meet Sheriff Whitney and his staff and ask any questions they may have regarding the operation of the Sheriff’s Office.
