Allegany County Sheriff Rick Whitney reports that on September 12, 2017,  Deputies arrested Matthew G. Monroe age 27 of Wellsville, charging him with Promoting Prison Contraband in the 1st Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree. The charges stem from an incident that occurred at the Allegany County Jail on August 21, 2017.  Monroe, who was currently incarcerated on unrelated charges was processed and issued appearance tickets directing him to the Town of Amity Court.

On September 12, 2017,   Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office arrested Alva C. Rinker Jr., age 28 of Fillmore, charging him with Conspiracy in the 5th Degree. The charge stems from an investigation involving Rinker and another individual who were allegedly attempting to smuggle narcotics into the Allegany County Jail. Rinker, who was currently incarcerated on unrelated charges was processed and issued an appearance ticket directing him to the Town of Amity Court.
