Obituary: Ronald H. "Geez" Geiser, 81, Coudersport


Ronald H. Geiser “Geez”
COUDERSPORT, PA---Ronald H. “Geez” Geiser, 81, of Coudersport, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, May 27, 2017, after a brief illness.
Born on March 21, 1936 in Upper Black Eddy, he was a son of Herman and Alice High Geiser.  In 1992 in Coudersport, he married Priscilla A. Sigafoos, who survives.
Ron honorably served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Iowa, attaining the rank of FP3.  He was employed as a pipefitter for Hoffman LaRoche Pharmaceutical Company in Belvidere, NJ, retiring at age 55.
Ron was a founding member of the Bridgeton Athletic Association in Upper Black Eddy, where he served as a baseball coach for over 20 years.  In 1989, Ron had the honor of having a baseball field named after him.  He was also a member of the Shinglehouse American Legion Post 530 and a member and former treasurer of the Sweden Feedin Club.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He loved spending his winters in Florida with his loving wife and his beloved dog, Molly, where they spent many hours fishing, clamming, shrimping and crabbing.  His greatest love was his family.
Surviving besides his wife are four children, Teresa L. (Amos) Lefler of Wind Gap, Anjanette (Brian) Lukhard of Kernersville, NC, Nicholas J. Zangli of Upper Black Eddy, and Suzanne Sturn of Horsham; seven grandchildren, AJ (Audrey) Lefler, Krista (fiancée Billy Kasebier) Lefler, Jamie Lukhard, Logan Lukhard, Cale Zangli, Emma Zangli, and Leo Sturn; two sisters, Nancy Schaefer of Upper Black Eddy and Carolene (Tom) Cegielski of Inverness, Florida; several nieces and nephews; and his dear friend, Ken “Opie” Rogers of Coudersport, whom he considered a son.
Ron was predeceased by his parents.
Family and friends are invited to attend committal services with full military honors at 1pm on Friday, June 16, 2017 in the Bath National Cemetery, Bath, NY.

Ron’s family has entrusted his care to the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
