Erie County man get probation for attempting to attack Alfred police officer, with injuries

An Erie County man who attempted to attack a police officer in Alfred was granted probation, not prison, even though the initial report suggested the cop suffered  head and knee injuries. 20-year-old Colton Reformat of Elma pleaded guilty in Allegany County court Wednesday to felony attempted assault. He was originally charged with far more serious counts. Judge Thomas Brown sentenced him to three years probation and said he had to cough up $997.50 in restitution. According to a press statement, the case began with a harassment complaint and ended a cop injured.
