State police arrest Dansville man for theft of prescription medication

New York State Troopers from the Wayland barracks received report of a larceny of prescription medications from a residence in the Town of Wayland. The troopers interviewed the complainant who stated she was providing her children with their daily medications and noticed some prescription medications were missing. During the course of the investigation, troopers located another complainant in the Village of Cohocton, who stated they were missing medication as well. After further investigation, troopers were able to identify the suspect as Alec H. Ebert, age 22, of  Dansville NY. The suspect is currently being held in the Livingston County jail on an unrelated drug charge. The subject was transported from the Livingston County Jail to the Wayland State Police Barracks for processing. The suspect was charged with one count of Petit Larceny in the Town of Wayland Court and one count of Petit Larceny and one count of Burglary in the 2nd degree in the Village of Cohocton Court. The subject was arraigned in the Village of Cohocton Court on all charges and remanded to the Livingston County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond. The suspect was ordered to re-appear in the Village of Cohocton and the Town of Wayland courts on a later date.
