Allegany County: Pullen resigns from Legislature UPDATED

During Monday's Allegany County Legislature meeting, David Pullen of Fillmore announced his resignation as a District 1 lawmaker. Pullen cited family matters and demands at his law practice as the primary reasons.
Brenda Riehle, Clerk of the Board, said Republican committee members will now meet and offer a replacement. Once the Clerk receives the nomination, it will be forwarded to the Ways and Means Committee. If the committee endorses the selection, the name will be forwarded to the full board for approval. It's likely, we're told, a replacement will be appointed by next month. Riehle said Democrats can also offer a nomination.
County insiders said this morning several names have been floating around, but one man appears to be leading the pack.
UPDATE: Richard Hollis, an Allegany County Election Commissioner, issued this statement this morning:
The District One Republican Committee, of which I’m the Chair, will be meeting to select a candidate. That date has not yet been determined but will be in the near future. I will advise as soon as a date and place to hold the meeting  has been determined.
