Obituary: Lorna G. Brink, 82, Almond

Almond - Lorna G. Brink, 82, of Twin Valley Terrace, passed away Monday evening (February 20, 2017) at Highland Hospital in Rochester.
Born in Hornell, October 24, 1934, the daughter of Karl W. and Julia Kaiser Schreck, she had resided in this area her entire life. She was a graduate of Hornell High School, and for a time, was employed at the former Woolworth’s Store in Hornell.
She was a member of the Almond Union of Churches where she served as treasurer for 30 years. She was currently a trustee of the church, served on the church council and was a member of the church board. Lorna was an active member of the church choir and a former member of Ivanhoe Chapter #160, Order of Eastern Star in Hornell. She was also a member of the Wednesday Woman’s bowling league in Hornell.
She was predeceased by her parents, her sisters; Judith Barnett, Karyl Doster and Adeline Lemp, as well as her grandson, Tye Dickinson.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Brink to whom she was married on September 14, 1963, her daughters; Sonja (Thomas) Dickinson Jr. of Blossburg, PA, and Tara Rudgers of Hilton, NY, five grandchildren; Trace Dickinson, Cassie Dickinson, Troy Dickinson, Chloe Maytan and Scott Rudgers.

The family will be present to receive friends from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2017, at the Bender - Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St, Hornell. Memorial services will be held at the Almond Union Of Churches on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Michelle Ormsby Serra officiating.
