Hornell: Hogan confirms, he won't seek another term

From WLEA Radio:
Statement From Hornell Mayor Shawn Hogan:
Back in May of 2015 I announced that it would likely be my last term as Mayor of the great City of Hornell. I left the door open ever so slightly when I said if Region is successful in receiving the URI monies, (the Upstate Rural Initiative) which we were, this is the pool of money we will be using to create the Center for Advanced Transit/High Speed Rail Center of excellence, right here in Hornell, NY. The other big project which goes hand in hand was the Amtrak Contract 2.5 billion. As expected this contract has everyone excited and our economy is on the verge of great things. In my three decades in office I have never witnessed so much optimism in the City and surrounding region. I have managed the City with professionalism and honor and I have nothing but praise for those I have worked with. City of Hornell employees are second to none and we have a dedicated group of Department Heads that are truly devoted to the City and its residents. Although I feel I have much more to give my community, I also have to think about my family who have allowed me to do what I LOVE, SERVE THE CITIZENS OF OUR GREAT CITY. Shortly after I indicated that I would not run for a 9th term in May of 2015, my wife was diagnosed with a serious illness, by the grace of God she is doing well, but this too brings my decision into perspective. I ask for your prayers and continued support as I vigorously serve the remainder of my term in office. Peace and Hope.
